Mission

The Mission of the Kitsap County Young Professionals Group (KCYPG) is to be the central hub for networking, personal development, leadership and recognition opportunities that empower local young professionals (ages 21-45).

Description

The Mission of the Kitsap County Young Professionals Group (KCYPG) is to be the central hub for networking, personal development, leadership and recognition opportunities that empower local young professionals (ages 21-45). Our organization will work directly with the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce and its members. Port Orchard Chamber members will act as mentors to help build not only professional contacts but also community contacts in the Kitsap area. KCYPG members will strive to work, volunteer and play in our community in addition to supporting local business and non-profits.

The Goals of the KCYPG Management Team/ Members and their Port Orchard Chamber Mentors will be to work towards:
• Providing forums for networking and business development through the production of regular social events and extensive on-line and local resources geared toward services, events, and personal development.
• We will support professional, personal and community volunteer development of our members by hosting, volunteering and providing avenues for members to work, speak, present and organize events and activities.
• We will offer leadership opportunities for young professionals by welcoming members to participate in the planning and delivery of events, activities and informational training.
• We will develop a strong culture of recognition for our membership, including formal and informal recognition in the form of public events, awards, and personal gratification.

KCYPG will look to host monthly or bi-monthly mixers, social activities and events at venues throughout Port Orchard and surrounding areas that provide attendees the opportunity to network with other young professionals while enjoying a variety of locations, event themes, and social opportunities. Frequently, our events will include Networking Games (and prizes) to make it fun and easy to meet new people. The KCYPG event locations could range from local restaurants, lounges, unique businesses, to exciting, activity-oriented venues.

The KCYPG will work in conjunction with the Port Orchard Chamber to develop a strong sense of community, volunteerism, business/professional development and even political awareness.

As an initial start up we need to recruit a management team of at least the following:
President, Vice President, Treasurer/Secretary, Director of Membership, Director of Community & Public Relations, Director of Marketing & Information Technology, Director of Sponsorships, and Director of Business/Political Development
With this key management team and the Port Orchard Chamber mentors working together we will begin to recruit a general membership. This in turn will develop a gateway to further Port Orchard Chamber membership and volunteers.
Membership and event fees will support our organization.
