ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT
Sidney Art Gallery, Sidney Museum and the Log Cabin Museum are operated by the Sidney Museum and Arts Association. The Log Cabin Musuem built in 1914 currently houses changing exhibits of home life in the South Kitsap area during the past 100 years. The Art Gallery housed in the town's original Masonic Hall, is a block up the hill from downtown Port Orchard and the marina. The Sidney Gallery is a terrific place to find artistic treasures by renowned and emerging artists. The upstairs Sidney Museum features vignettes of early South Kitsap life
Anything Neon houses the Northwest Metal Art Gallery, Neon Art Gallery and Northwest Glass Works. A funky, tucked away vintage feel museum and gallery just outside of donnwtown Port Orchar dyou won't
want to miss.
Several local bookstores host local and nationally known authors for discussions and book signings.
Live Theater. Local talent shines in dram, musicals and comdey productions presented throughout the year by the Western Washington Center for the Arts and the recently started Port Orchard Community Theatre. South Kitsap High School is also well known for its excellent drama aprogram and offers three productions each year in the Win Granlund Performing Arts Center.
Festivals & Tourist Activities
Fathoms O' Fun Festival, one of the oldest festivals in the state runs the last week of June through the "4th" of July. The internationally known Seagull Calling Festival, coordinated by the Port Orchard Chamber takes place the first Saturday in May. The second Sunday in August provides a full day- and something for everyone with The Cruz custom car show, and Festival by the Bay. The Festival of Lights & Chimes takes place in early December. Saturdays, May through October the Port Orchard Farmers Market takes place near the Port Orchard Marina in downtown Port Orchard. The market is one of the oldest and largest in Western Washington.
The Chris Craft Rendezvous in July draws many boat owners and dreamers. Concerts by the Bay are free public concerts weekly mid summer.
