Don's Delightful Confections-Don Clawson

Plenty of people make confections, but according to Don Clawson “mine are exceptional!” Don and his family stand behind the candy that he puts his name on. Whether it is his sweet, buttery time-tested caramel (a four generation recipe) or his soft and smooth mouth watering fudge, or his ridiculously addictive toffee corn (some with bacon bits added!) Don’s Delightful Confections makes candy of the highest quality standards, using family recipes and old world candy making techniques.
Although Don’s business is only a year old he began making candy as young as five years old when he stood on a kitchen chair helping his mom stir caramel.
A career change brought Don to this  area—he has a Bachelors Degree in Zoology and Chemistry and previously ahs worked as a Lobbyist, a Government Health Inspector and a Custodial Supervisor in Education.  Don has 10 children and 21 grandchildren and when he is not making candy he sings in the Seattle Men’s Chorus and is the Rehearsal Manager for the chorus providing snacks during chorus rehearsal (yum!)
Don likes the great climate in our area and the opportunity to live in the country with privacy. He likes the Chamber for the opportunities it gives him to associate with members and network .  To reach Don’s Delightful Confections call (206) 497-9417 or go to www.donsdelights.com!

That One Place-Craig & Evalina Kenady

Local natives Craig and Evalina Kenady have worked in restaurants for over 12 years. Almost two years ago, they opened That One Place, located at 1386 SE Lund Ave (behind the Bethel Ave. Kitsap Bank)—a great old-fashioned family diner that serves the best burger in town, and good breakfast too!
When they are not working, the two love to ride their Harleys and 4-wheel. Evalina enjoys gardening in the spring and summer. Their favorite thing about Port Orchard is that even though the town is growing, it still has the "small town" feel.
Their family of four attends the Port Orchard Church of Christ. Their 20-year-old son is moving back home to help run the family business, and their 11-year-old daughter attends Sidney Glen Elementary.
Craig and Evalina tell us that the Chamber is a great business network for business owners. So check out That One Place – "a customer decorated form of a mancave" that serves great food in a pleasant atmosphere – and tell them the Chamber sent you!
